My Writing Journey: From Idea to Published Author

Writing has always been a part of me in some way, but I never imagined I’d one day be holding my own book in my hands. The journey from a simple idea to a published book has been filled with excitement, challenges, and countless lessons. Here’s how it all began.

The Spark of an Idea

A Light for Joshua’s Journey wasn’t just a story I created—it was something that grew in my heart over time. I’ve always been drawn to stories that explore emotions, self-discovery, and adventure. One day, the idea of a young boy on a journey, guided by Faith in god, took root in my mind. I knew I had to bring Joshua’s story to life.

Bringing the Story to Life

I wanted the book to have a deep, meaningful message—one that would resonate with both children and adults. Writing a children’s book meant finding the perfect balance between simplicity and depth. Every word, every illustration, and every scene had to serve a purpose.

One of the most rewarding parts of the process was shaping Joshua’s character. With his light brown hair and curious heart, he became real to me. I pictured him walking along a twilight-lit pathway, searching for something more. That image became the foundation of the book’s theme—hope, perseverance, and the courage to keep moving forward.

The Challenges Along the Way

Like any journey, writing and publishing this book came with challenges. Finding the right words, structuring the story, and making sure it was both engaging and meaningful took time. Then came the publishing process—choosing the right platform, handling formatting, and making sure everything looked just right.

I chose to publish through Notion Press, which allowed me to bring the book to readers in India. But I wanted to reach a wider audience, so I also published both the Kindle e-book and paperback version through KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). Now, A Light for Joshua’s Journey is available internationally on Amazon.com, making it easier for readers around the world to experience Joshua’s adventure.

Where the Journey Goes from Here

This is just the beginning. I have more stories to tell, including a sequel to Joshua’s story and other exciting projects in the works. Writing has taught me that stories have the power to connect, heal, and inspire. I hope my books do the same for those who read them.

Have you ever had a story idea that wouldn’t leave your mind? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
